thirty days of painting

In a self-challenge to paint daily for thirty days (M-F for six weeks), I enjoyed personal permission to paint - in oils, and in soft pastels. The result - new thirty original paintings in two themes:
"turning & tempo,"
and "quiet waters."

The new paintings are displayed for you below.

an increased output in slowing down

In Spring 2020, during the corona virus pandemic, a "stay home" order suddenly cleared my evening schedule and studio. While spring is a very busy season, this spring offered a retreat-like quiet that fostered focus - resulting in over thirty new paintings. Here below are about half the paintings - these reflect on the merits of slowing down.

quiet waters

Quiet Waters embodies selah, rest, and pause -- in soul-restoring places of peace - lakes, streams, rivers, and ocean.

This virus season has challenged our contentment, our convenience, and sometimes our peace. My artist response to these inner and outer tensions is to paint places of peace - places of quiet waters.

To me, the lake and stream imagery is soul-refreshing. And so I've painted them to "notice" them, to receive them well, and to share them. They are below in chronological order of their creation.
