This image of heliboris, blooming in its season (winter) is about opposites: opportunity in adversity, an insulating blanket made of ice, iridescent green turning to coppery red when viewed from certain angles, warm Kitakata paper and cool, gray cotton. Classic crayon drawing and tusche hand printed on Kitakata chin collé onto gray Rives cotton cover in white ink, dusted with dry, iridescent pigment. Classic crayon drawing on stone is printed in dark green on top. Snowflakes only appear at certain angles of light. Paper and image size: 26.25 H x 19.25 W inches Edition of 40 is sold out. A few proofs remain for $510 each unframed. Two trial proofs differ from the edition in that they have less or no copper in the flower.
