imagery of tacoma's wright park

Tacoma General Hospital is purchasing five dye-painted silk studies depicting calming imagery from Tacoma's Wright Park. Here are some photos of the artworks before they were steam-set and washed.

"Twins" (above) was intended to be created large-scale for a maternity ward. Two Japanese Cherries bloom in front of the iconic Wright Park Conservatory.

"Standing Ovation" (below) welcomes spring with a ticker-tape parade of blossoms and petals on a mature cherry tree in Tacoma's Wright park. This work was also proposed for a maternity ward, offering applause and comforting imagery to women recovering from childbirth or other complications. This study will be framed and displayed at Tacoma General Hospital.
