making of the silk artwork "tatoosh mountain"

Here are some shots of the artwork in progress.

I use smaller dyed silk studies to work out colors for the larger commissioned silk.

I compose using yarn before committing to lines drawn in liquid resist.

Working from real photos as visual reference usually results in a more life-like resemblance.

I add colors in layers, working gradually to full saturation.
